When The Blackbird Sings for International Women’s Day

Creative Writing Submission Request
the brief

THE FEMALE EXPERIENCE

We are inviting you to submit a piece of writing (maximum 1000 words) which encapsulates the whole, or an element of, the wonder of the feminine. The piece could be a short story, a poem or an anecdote, there are no strict rules about the format we only ask that you adhere to the word count.

The piece can be funny or sad, heartfelt or questioning, or anything in between. The piece can touch on bodies, power, oppression, feminism, mysticism, spirituality, nature, experience or simple reality. We acknowledge that this is wide brief and it is deliberately so, to open up the floor to anyone interested in taking part. Let your knowledge, imagination and emotions guide your writing.
